Our Purpose and Commitment

OMEGA is a West Virginia-based organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the business interests of the state’s petroleum marketing, retail grocery, and convenience store industries.

As a network of over 225 locally owned businesses, OMEGA actively promotes cooperation, advocates for favorable legislation, and provides education and resources to its members. With over 50,000 employees, OMEGA members significantly contribute to the state’s economy, generating more than 10% of all state taxes and supporting local communities through scholarships, charitable donations, and civic involvement.

OMEGA is committed to fostering industry growth while serving West Virginians with essential services like fuel, food, and convenience.

Your Essential Connection in West Virginia

OMEGA offers three types of membership: Convenience Store Members, Petroleum Marketer Members, and Grocer Members, all of which play a vital role in providing fuel, food, and essentials across West Virginia. As a liaison with state and national agencies, OMEGA works closely with organizations like NACS, PMAA, FMI, and the N.G.A. to advocate on behalf of its members.

We keep members informed through newsletters, legislative updates, an online resource hub, and educational seminars. Additional member benefits include access to the Encova Workers’ Compensation Discount Program and participation in our annual Trade Expo and fundraising efforts for children’s charities. OMEGA is here to support, advocate, and enhance the success of our industry members.

Since 2013, the Food Safety Auditing Scholarship and Education Travel Grant has been awarded to 43 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. This scholarship recognizes students with strong leadership skills, outstanding academic achievement and passion for the field of accredited food safety auditing.

As a way to help fill that gap, the FMI Foundation is sponsoring scholarships to students currently enrolled as food and agricultural science majors in a North American accredited university/college.These are individuals who have a true interest in the field of accredited food safety auditing. Since 2013, the Food Safety Auditing Scholarship and Education Travel Grant has been awarded to 43 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. This scholarship recognizes students with strong leadership skills, outstanding academic achievement and passion for the field of accredited food safety auditing. </p> <p>The scholarship includes a $3,000 scholarship award, an all-expenses paid trip to the <a href="http://www.sqfi.com/forms/meeting/Microsite/SQFConf-2018,0">Safe Quality Food (SQF) International Conference</a>,&nbsp; along with global recognition from FMI and SQFI. Attending the SQF International Conference has become quite the hot ticket item, as &nbsp;winners are given an opportunity to network with over 850 of the nation&rsquo;s premiere food safety and quality professionals.&nbsp;</p> <p>In 2017, the Foundation received &nbsp;83 applicants including 13 undergraduates, 40 masters students and 30 doctoral candidates from 36 different universities. Recognizing the need to provide support to even more candidates, the FMI Foundation Board of Trustees approved to expand the annual program to 15 grants in 2018, up from 10 grants in previous years.</p> <p>Do you know someone who might be interested in applying for the scholarship?&nbsp; Applications for this scholarship must be completed by September 7, 2018.
