(1987) Worked for Ashland Oil Inc. from 1978 (upon graduation at Marshall) until 1993, primarily in supply, transportation and sales. Began in July of 1993 with West Virginia Petroleum Marketers (WVPMA) and West Virginia Association of Convenience Stores (WVACS) as the Executive Director. On January 1, 1996, merged the WV Retail Grocers with the two previous groups and created the WV Oil Marketers and Grocers Association, Inc. (OMEGA WV) and maintained the position of Executive Director for the expanded group of nearly 400 members. Major objective is to assist members in increasing their business effectiveness and profitability by providing resources for education, training and an exchange of ideas; encouraging a high level of business ethics and a positive image for the industries; encouraging governmental action beneficial to the industries through the active participation of its membership; providing cost effective services for the membership; and advising and educating the membership to enable them to run their businesses effectively and profitably. Responsible for coordinating an Annual Trade Show, an Annual Convention, hosting educational seminars, providing member services, maintaining a library as well as lobbying and coordinating governmental involvement with state and federal agencies. On October 1, 2006, OMEGA entered into a joint venture with the West Virginia Motor Truck Association (WVMTA) and was named the President of both organizations.
