The TSA is requiring all personnel that access a water supplied facility have TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) credential by April 15, 2009 or earlier as the port designates. The only site closer than Richmond VA is Huntington WV and their hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Additionally the site requires an appointment for enrollment. At issue is the distance to Huntington and its conflict with those of us that operate 24/7 on 12-hour shifts. To be available during those hours most drivers would have to stop work and travel out there for the appointment. In this time of shortages in product, drivers and HOS regulations, it is virtually impossible to get this done.

The West Virginia Oil Marketers & Grocers Association (OMEGA), an organization representing convenience stores, independent grocers and petroleum marketers across West Virginia, in conjunction with the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, raised $156,131 to help grant the wishes of children suffering with life-threatening conditions, association representatives announced today.
Jan Vineyard, President of OMEGA, said, “If, through this campaign, we can put a smile on the faces of even a few children fighting through life threatening medical conditions, we will have accomplished our goal. The strength and courage of these children is amazing.”
